Career

Clark Duellman is a skilled transactional attorney with over 15 years of experience in a wide range of legal environments and business settings.

Launching his career with a mid-sized law firm based in the Coachella Valley of Southern California, Clark represented the interests of numerous business clients on matters ranging from asset acquisition to eminent domain to land use disputes.

Upon relocating to Orange County, Clark joined a large Los Angeles-based real estate firm representing major property owners, developers and asset managers on issues associated with commercial and residential real estate acquisition and development. With his primary focus on residential development, Clark gained extensive experience in a range of affairs related to master-planned communities, condominium projects, homeowner associations, and mixed-use developments.

Clark was later recruited to manage the legal affairs of a major resort development and management company where he handled the business and legal concerns of the company’s corporate headquarters, sales and marketing operations, and nine resorts located in California, Nevada, Utah and the Baja Peninsula of Mexico. During his eight years as Corporate Counsel, Clark developed expertise in resort development matters ranging from land acquisition to zoning laws to commercial construction. He was also responsible for negotiating and finalizing contractor agreements, office leases, maintenance agreements, vendor contracts, and vacation ownership plan documents.

Clark most recently served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Ogden where he worked closely with Ogden’s Department of Community and Economic Development on interlocal agreements, development agreements, tax increment financing issues, the Ogden River Project, and various other development-related matters.

As a sole practitioner Clark periodically travels to California where he serves as outside counsel for a resort management company. He also enjoys representing several local clients on diverse real estate and business matters such as commercial lease negotiations, business entity formation, conservation easements, eminent domain concerns, boundary disputes, and comprehensive revisions to governing documents for homeowner associations.

Education

Clark attended the University of California at Berkeley where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree and graduated with honors. He is a graduate of Boston University School of Law where he primarily focused on environmental and land use studies.

Personal

Over the years Clark has been very fortunate to have traveled the world – from the Netherlands to Nepal – while living in diverse places from coast-to-coast including Boston, the Pacific Northwest, rural Midwestern towns, and nearly every part of California. Clark has now made his home in the quiet and incredibly beautiful village of Eden, Utah located in the heart of Ogden Valley.

Ogden Valley combines the best parts of nearly every place Clark has ever visited or lived. He enjoys hiking the summertime trails of the northern Wasatch Range, skiing the wintertime slopes of Powder Mountain and Snowbasin, and breathing the year-round fresh mountain air.  Clark has also been very active volunteering for community events and causes including the Ogden Marathon, providing free legal counsel at the Ogden YCC bi-monthly “Weber County Bar Night”, and serving on the Board of Directors for the Wolf Creek Foundation.
